CATALINA SCHLIEBENER
Catalina Schliebener was born in Santiago de Chile in 1980. They lives and works between New York and Buenos Aires.
They has a degree in Arts and Philosophy from the Art and Social studies University ARCIS in Santiago de Chile. Between 2002 and 2008 they taught in different universities in the area of philosophy and art theory in Chile.
In 2014, they moved to New York and made a 3 months intership with artist Liliana Porter for developing Wakefield (TwiceTold tales) project. They also participated in the following residency programs: RIPAC (Residencia de Investigación y Producción de Arte Contemporáneo), Centro Cultural de la Embajada de Chile en Argentina, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2013); FIX07, Belfast, Irlanda del Norte, proyecto patrocinado por The Henry Moore Foundation (2007).
They is a recipient of FONDART – Fondo del Desarrollo de la Cultura y las Artes del Gobierno de Chile (2006, 2008 y 2009) grant; DIRAC – Dirección de asuntos Culturales, Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores del Gobierno de Chile (2007) grant and FONDARSIS – Fondo de la Universidad de Arte y Ciencias SoWciales ARCIS (2002) grant. In 2017, they was selected to participate in the Queer Artist Fellowship program at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art and in 2018 in the Artist in the Marketplace (AIM) Program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts.
