MICROCROMATISMO

Microcromatism: Tempera in small brushstrokes. Margin, collection, miniature, color, and time.  Graphics and annotations incorporate pigments for which they were intended. Reeds that were once curtains, now solitary, are the cylindrical support of infinite shades of color. Fragments of books where issues of “meaning” are mentioned cross through and constitute – between stones and lines – their topology.

Herbarium: Series of albums containing a collection of marginal drawings, annotations, and automatic graphics that have been cut out – scissors here are a drawing tool – and intervened with tempera. There is an encounter of distant times, a present act questioning the past to discern color and the place to move the brush.

Microscope Paintings: Series of cylindrical paintings with very small and persistent brushstrokes. The palette – narrowed from a distance – expands as we approach the painting. There is a desire to see the world up close. Microscope painting: when, to distinguish its shades, we must bring our eyes to the color until our nose almost touches it, right at the edge of the blur.

Topology of “meanings”: Collection of phrases about “meaning.” A permanent search as if all artistic work were always in process. Artistic production as a search for meaning. We can manipulate books and find these phrases, each accompanied by a line of color. Books like in a library, one next to the other, placed on the floor. The sequence is stone, book, book, book, stone. There are many books and two stones, one from the river, the other from the mountain.
